When Michael Jordan made his NBA debut with the Chicago Bulls on October 26, 1884, no one could have imagined the extent to which the GOAT would influence the sports, fashion, and restaurant industries. His first game in the NBA was against the Washington Bullets, and Heritage Auctions is offering up an unused full ticket as part of the 2022 Winter Platinum Night Sports Auction, ending on February 26, 2022. There is only one known unused ticket for this game and it was provided to Heritage Auctions by a former Northwestern student and Washington, D.C. native that was gifted two seats to the game by Bullets executive Jerry Sachs. He ended up attending the game alone but held on to his spare ticket for the last 38 years.
Approximately twenty-five ticket stubs from the October 26, 1984 season opener between the Chicago Bulls and the visiting Washington Bullets are known to exist to the present day, the most recent sale making global headlines when it found a new owner in December 2021 at $264,000 to set a new world record for a ticket. That record will be short-lived, however, as this one is the only known full, unused ticket from Michael Jordan’s NBA debut and it is expected to elevate that mark by a significant margin.
