Zenith just released the DEFY Zero G Sapphire, a timepiece that celebrates the brand’s 160th anniversary. This new release from Zenith includes two stunning editions of its groundbreaking “Gravity Control” watch — one in celestial blue sapphire and the other in fully transparent sapphire — each limited to just ten pieces worldwide.

Since its introduction in 2008, Zenith’s Zero G movement has stood apart for its ability to defy gravity literally. Unlike traditional tourbillons that average positional errors, the Zero G’s patented gimbal-mounted escapement actively neutralizes gravity’s effect in real time. The result is an unprecedented level of precision, achieved through a miniaturized stabilization system inspired by marine chronometers of old.

The 46mm sapphire case showcases the intricate El Primero 8812S calibre, a hand-wound marvel that beats at 5Hz with a 50-hour power reserve. A lapis lazuli dial flecked with gold-colored pyrite evokes the starry night sky, while the open-worked design reveals the mesmerizing motion of the Zero Gravity module at 6 o’clock. The blue alligator strap completes the otherworldly look.

At $207,500, the DEFY Zero G Sapphire is not just a watch — it’s a statement of engineering audacity and celestial beauty. For collectors, it’s a chance to wear a mechanical galaxy on the wrist.
