Wren Watches, the microbrand founded in 2023 by Wrist Enthusiast Craig Karger, is quickly cementing its reputation for practical yet bold dive watches. Its latest release, the Wren Diver One Magma, arrives as a collaborative project with Ben’s Watches, marking the first co-release for both names. Limited to just 100 pieces, the Magma brings volcanic heat to Wren’s cornerstone Diver One collection with a design that blends elemental storytelling and rugged functionality.
At its core, the Diver One Magma offers familiar specifications for a daily diver: a 41mm stainless steel case, 200m water resistance, sapphire crystal, and a Sellita SW200 automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve. But the execution elevates the details. The fumé dial shifts from fiery red-orange at the center to black at the edges, evoking molten lava as it cools. For the first time in the series, Wren introduces a ceramic bezel insert designed to resemble volcanic rock and black lume that glows with an ember-like presence in the dark.
Each Magma package includes not only a micro-adjustable flat-link steel bracelet and black rubber strap but also a custom card, volcanic rock fragments, and notes from Karger and Cook. Together, these touches emphasize the story behind the piece—heat, pressure, and transformation forged into wearable art.
With just 100 units available at $1,075, the Diver One Magma is a statement of accessible independent watchmaking and proof that microbrands can balance narrative, design, and tool-watch credentials in one fiery package.
