$ 6,200

The Waiting for Ideas PP-1 Turntable is less a record player and more a sculptural statement piece that just happens to spin vinyl. Milled from a solid block of aluminum, this $6,200 work of functional art ditches the tonearm and skips the fiddly setup entirely. Just plug it in, flip your vinyl upside down, and hit play. That’s it.

Designed to be as intuitive as it is minimalist, the PP-1 turntable features two low-profile knobs—one for manual or auto speed selection (33/45 RPM) and one that controls play, pause, skip, and volume: no screen, no labels, no distractions. Beneath the surface, sensors read the vinyl’s speed and spacing to automatically detect RPMs and track transitions, marrying analog charm with digital precision.

Thanks to its hefty aluminum body, the player balances vertically or horizontally, giving it the presence of a minimalist monolith in your living room. It even comes with custom-designed speakers wrapped in understated black fabric that complements the stark design language.

Founder Jean-Baptiste Anotin’s vision was simple: eliminate everything unnecessary, and what’s left is pure audio sculpture. The PP-1 is made to order, offering a rare mix of form, function, and futurism for those who want to make a statement with their sound. Vinyl never looked—or worked—quite like this.
