A collaboration between the watchmakers at Urwerk and the boutique timepiece retailer The Hour Glass, the UR-105 Commemorative Edition epitomizes Urwerk’s long-standing tradition of mixing “old school horology with Blade Runner-esque design.”
While design companies in all fields have long taken “futuristic” approaches that ultimately go nowhere, the new UR-105 truly looks as if it has been transported back in time. But it also pays tribute to the past with design elements based on a 17th-century night clock crafted by the Campanus brothers.
With a titanium and sandblasted bronze case that is pressure tested to 30 meters, the Urwerk x The Hour Glass UR-105 Commemorative Edition is not only built to last but look great while doing it. As Urwerk co-founder, Martin Frei, puts it, the bronze finish on this watch, in and of itself, marks the passage of time as “every hour leaves its mark, creating a living patina.”
