Ulysse Nardin’s Freak collection has always been a rebellious outlier in watchmaking—a timepiece that rewrote the rules by eliminating traditional hands, dials, and crowns. Now, the Swiss maison pushes the boundaries even further with the new Freak S ENAMEL, available in two striking colorways—ruby red and turquoise blue—each limited to just 50 pieces.

First unveiled in 2001, the Freak line became a legend for its radical design and boundary-pushing mechanics. The Freak S, first introduced in 2022, takes that concept into warp speed with a structure that resembles a miniature spacecraft orbiting within its 45mm titanium case. Inside, the UN-251 calibre powers the watch using two silicon balance wheels set at inclined angles across six gear planes, creating the world’s first automatic double-oscillator movement. This intricate setup gives the watch a mesmerizing 3D aesthetic that feels more like kinetic art than traditional horology.

The new enamel editions elevate that artistry even further. Each colorway—crafted using a complex high-heat enameling process—contrasts beautifully against the titanium structure, while a white or anthracite rubber strap grounds the futuristic design in wearability. The watch also features Ulysse Nardin’s Grinder system, its most advanced automatic winding mechanism, delivering a 72-hour power reserve.

At $174,000, the Freak S ENAMEL is equal parts avant-garde design, cutting-edge engineering, and pure horological theater—proof that Ulysse Nardin’s innovation remains untouchable.
