A watch is not necessarily just a timepiece anymore. The Ulysse Nardin Blast Moonstruck is a clear representation of that. This astronomy-inspired wristwatch is one of the newest releases from Ulysse Nardin, and it offers more than the current time here on Earth. The Ulysse Nardin Blast Moonstruck is mechanically complex yet surprisingly easy to read. The watch features two elliptical structures to recreate the daily movements of the sun and moon. Its impressive gear train powers the moon phase indicator to make a complete rotation per day. The gear train also moves the moon around the dial for a complete rotation each lunar month.
The moon phase indicator is one of the most precise and awe-inspiring features of the Blast Moonstruck, brightening and dimming in line with the lunar calendar. Different phases of the moon appear on the aperture as it passes through waxing and waning cycles. A user can easily decipher the moon phase, calendar, world, and dual time in seconds. However, the watch’s design is equally impressive with a domed sapphire crystal representation of the view of Earth from the North Pole complete with engraved landmasses. The look and mechanical features of the Ulysse Nardin Blast Moonstruck are worthy of the other-worldly praise they are receiving. The angular black ceramic and titanium DLC watch case has a kind of semi-tonneau shape and is extremely angular. The triple lugs twist and fold with compound angles, integrating smoothly with the black alligator strap.
