Amazon Prime Releases ‘The Wheel Of Time’ Official Teaser Trailer

The two minute teaser offers us a good look at the sets, costumes, and cast of this fantasy series based on Robert Jordan’s bestselling novels.

Amazon Prime Video has just released The Wheel of Time Official Teaser Trailer, which will premiere on November 19th. The upcoming high fantasy series is based on the novels written by late American author James Oliver Rigney Jr., under his pen name Robert Jordan. With more than 90 million books sold, The Wheel of Time is one of the most popular and enduring fantasy series of all time, so it is no surprise that it has made its way to television.

Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine, played by Rosamund Pike, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a “dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity,” according to the description provided by the streaming service. In the show’s first teaser trailer, Moiraine speaks about the great power that Aes Sedai members hold. “The wheel of time turns, and ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend,” she says. “The power inside you. All over the world, there are different names for it,” she continues. “But it’s one thing, one power, and women who can touch it. We protect the world.”

In addition to Rosamund Pike, the expansive cast also includes Sophie Okonedo as Siuan Sanche, Kae Alexander as Min Farshaw, Kate Fleetwood as Liandrin Guirale, Peter Franzen as Stepin, and Clare Perkins as Kerene Nagashi, among others. Expect the first three episodes of The Wheel of Time to premiere Friday, November 19th, with new episodes available each Friday after that, leading up to the season finale on December 24th. Amazon has renewed the series for a second season and filming is already underway.
