Portable grills often reduce the cooking surface and the ambition at the same time. The Thaan Grill takes a more disciplined approach, concentrating restaurant-style live-fire heat in a tabletop unit sized for patios, campsites, beach trips, and event service.

The insulated body measures 18.75 inches long, 10.75 inches wide, and 8.5 inches tall, with a 13 × 8.5-inch cooking surface. Its double-wall construction retains infrared heat instead of radiating it outward, helping the grate reach approximately 800°F while keeping exterior temperatures more manageable. Stainless steel and high-temperature powder-coated steel provide the structure, while removable charcoal baskets simplify ash disposal and cleanup.

Fuel is central to the design. Thaan’s Thai-style charcoal is made from sustainably sourced rambutan orchard trimmings that are extruded into ultra-compressed logs. The company rates it for three to four hours of burn time, temperatures up to 1,200°F, and almost no smoke. That combination suits yakitori, skewers, vegetables, seafood, and direct searing without turning the grill into a miniature smoker.
Multiple accessories and grate arrangements give it more flexibility than many compact outdoor cooking systems, but the operating logic remains deliberately mechanical: light the charcoal, manage the airflow, and cook over concentrated heat.
The Thaan Grill is currently in stock for $499 and ships from the company’s Portland warehouse, with shipping calculated at checkout. Its body carries a limited lifetime warranty; grates, baskets, firebricks, and other accessories are excluded.
