Technics revolutionized the music industry with the introduction of the iconic direct drive turntable, the Technics SL-1200, released in 1972. This stalwart of the DJing scene has evolved over the decades, culminating in what may well be its final form: the Technics Limited Edition SL-1200/1210G Master Edition Turntables.

Released in February 2026 and with a limited run of just 2,410 units globally, the Technics Limited Edition SL-1200/1210G Master Edition Turntables promise to deliver the best possible experience for DJs. The primary upgrade here is the use of Technics’ new ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive), which marks its debut in the SL-1200G and SL-1210G series.
The use of this cutting-edge motor technology elevates the performance of the Technics Limited Edition SL-1200/1210G Master Edition Turntables by delivering a perfect sine-wave driving signal to the motor. Combined with the PWN signal generation, which keeps all vibrations from the motor to a minimum to ensure precise rotation at all times.
Additional upgrades featured in the Technics Limited Edition SL-1200/1210G Master Edition Turntables include a new high-torque motor for increased smoothness and a hybrid encoder to monitor rotation speed. Common issues faced by many DJs, such as record warping, are essentially made redundant by these welcome upgrades.
As you’d expect from a definitive edition of an iconic model, the Technics Limited Edition SL-1200/1210G Master Edition Turntables feature stunning gold-colored elements and logos on the headshell, top panel, and dust cover.
The price of the Technics Master Edition turntables is due to be announced before launching next year, with the silver SL-1200GME and the black SL-1210GME to choose from.
