Soundcore has introduced the Liberty 5 Pro Max, a flagship pair of wireless earbuds that adds a 1.78-inch AMOLED display and AI Note-Taker to its charging case. The result is less about reinventing the earbud itself and more about expanding what the case can do, turning it into a small productivity tool for meetings, lectures, interviews, and quick voice capture.

The main distinction between the Liberty 5 Pro Max and the standard Liberty 5 Pro is the case. Soundcore’s larger smart display can access the AI Voice Recorder, adjust ANC, manage earbud settings, and support custom wallpapers.

More importantly, the case includes a built-in microphone for recording face-to-face conversations. Those recordings sync with the Soundcore app, where they can be transcribed and turned into AI summaries with key points and action items. Soundcore includes 120 minutes of AI transcription per month for 24 months, with paid plans available for heavier use.

The earbuds themselves share Soundcore’s performance-focused feature set. The Liberty 5 Pro Max uses the Anker Thus AI Chip with a 10-sensor call system made up of eight microphones and two voice pickup units. Adaptive ANC 4.0 processes noise data in real time, while HearID 5.0 and AI Sound Enhancement tailor playback to the listener. The earbuds also support 20 built-in voice commands, Bluetooth 6.1, multipoint connection, IP55 water resistance, and 9.2 mm wool-paper diaphragm drivers.

Battery life is rated at 6.5 hours with ANC on, or 28 hours with the case. A five-minute charge provides up to four hours of playback. Available in Titanium Gold and Midnight Black, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max is priced at $229.99 through Soundcore, Amazon, and Best Buy. For commuters, frequent meeting-goers, and anyone who already lives in earbuds, the Pro Max makes its case the most interesting part of the system.
