Japanese outdoor specialist Snow Peak and performance footwear brand Merrell continue their evolving partnership with the SpeedARC Matis GORE-TEX SP, a third collaborative release that sharpens the dialogue between technical utility and restrained design. Scheduled to arrive on April 27, 2026, the shoe reflects both brands’ shared interest in bridging outdoor function with everyday wearability.

At its core is Merrell’s SpeedARC midsole system, which layers dual FloatPro foam with a stabilizing nylon FlexPlate. The setup is engineered to return energy efficiently while maintaining composure across uneven terrain, offering a ride that feels equally at home on long trails or city pavement. Underfoot, a Vibram Megagrip outsole provides dependable traction in wet and dry conditions, reinforcing the shoe’s all-surface intent.

Weather protection comes via a GORE-TEX membrane, ensuring waterproof performance without compromising breathability. The upper design leans into Snow Peak’s material sensitivity, drawing inspiration from natural elements such as bark, soil, and stone. This influence appears in the muted, earth-toned palette and asymmetrical detailing, including insoles that subtly reference forest greens and dusk hues. Reflective accents integrated into the lace system and heel strap enhance visibility while remaining visually discreet.

Rather than pushing overt technical aesthetics, the SpeedARC Matis GORE-TEX SP emphasizes balance—performance without excess, design without ornament. It is a continuation of a collaboration that has matured with each iteration, moving closer to a unified language of outdoor gear that transitions seamlessly into daily life.
