Inspired by Canfield Speedway, an old-school Ohio stockcar racetrack, at its height in the 50s and 60s, as well as the “master mechanics that pushed performance to the redline,” Shinola has released the LE Canfield Speedway Lap 04 Watch. Featuring a hefty 44mm polished stainless steel case, this timepiece has a colorful dial encircled by a white tachymeter– a scale on the bezel that converts time elapsed into speed traveled. In addition, on the watch dial, two sub-dials, styled after two-tone wheel designs, punctuate the matte velvet dark slate blue dial. The case also features a heavy coin edge and colorful anodized aluminum collars on the pushbuttons.
The Shinola LE Canfield Speedway Lap 04 is powered by an SW510 automatic movement that is visible through the exhibition case which includes a checkered flag rotor. Adding to the racing theme of the watch, it is finished with a black perforated leather strap. The Shinola LE Canfield Speedway arrives enclosed in a toolbox with an engravable badge and metal tray insert that adds to the stockcar-inspired theme. The LE Canfield Speedway Lap 04 is available starting today on Shinola’s website.
