Disposable batteries have long been the quiet compromise inside premium earbuds. Sennheiser’s latest pair treats that weakness as a design problem rather than an expiration date.

The MOMENTUM True Wireless 5 is the brand’s new $299.95 flagship, combining Bluetooth 6.0, lossless playback, and support for audio up to 24-bit/96kHz. Its TrueResponse dynamic drivers sit behind adaptive noise cancellation, while an AI-assisted voice system works with a bone-conduction microphone to separate speech from background noise. Dolby Atmos spatial audio, multipoint pairing, wind suppression, and an IP54 rating round out a suitably broad feature list.

The more consequential detail is hidden under a few screws. Batteries in both earbuds and the charging case are user-replaceable, extending the useful life of hardware that typically becomes waste once its cells fade. The buds deliver up to 12 hours per charge and 40 hours with the slimmer case, which supports USB-C and wireless charging. An eight-band equalizer and Fraunhofer-powered sound personalization provide finer control without turning setup into studio work.
The Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 5 is available to preorder in black or white for $299.95 through Sennheiser, with fulfillment timing varying by market.
