Seiko has unveiled a bold new collaboration with London’s Bamford Watch Department, the customization house known for transforming luxury watches into statement-making pieces. Limited to just 2,025 units, the Seiko 5 Sports x Bamford Watch Department model blends Seiko’s SKX heritage with Bamford’s retro-futurist aesthetic, creating a timepiece that feels as playful as it is purposeful.

At its core, the watch is powered by Seiko’s reliable 4R36 automatic movement, offering a 41-hour power reserve, day-date functionality, and the brand’s signature durability. Measuring 42.5mm across and 13.4mm thick, the stainless steel case is paired with a nylon strap that carries Bamford’s discreet logo. A curved Hardlex crystal and see-through caseback round out the technical build, while the caseback itself is engraved with the words “LIMITED EDITION” and a serial number, underscoring its rarity.

What sets this release apart is its dial and bezel design. Inspired by Seiko’s archives, the bezel insert uses a lustrous finish that evokes nostalgia with a futuristic twist. Fluorescent accents across the bezel, hands, and strap glow vividly under black light, while the indexes and hands are coated with Lumibrite for exceptional low-light legibility. A subtle Bamford signature appears at 6 o’clock on the dial and clasp, anchoring the collaboration.
Priced at $537 and presented in retro-style packaging that pays homage to Seiko’s 1960s history, this watch combines a unique fusion of Japanese precision and British design flair. For collectors and everyday enthusiasts alike, it’s a limited-edition statement piece with undeniable character.
