Marvel’s ‘Secret Invasion’ Set To Take Over Disney+ In June 2023

The series promises to delve deeper into Nick Fury’s past and future, while exploring the complex dynamics between the characters.

The official trailer for Secret Invasion, an upcoming American television miniseries, has just dropped to the delight of Marvel fans. The release of Secret Invasion is set to premiere on June 21, 2023, on Disney+. The series is based on the Marvel Comics storyline of the same name and is intended to be the ninth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios.

The story follows Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, and his allies as they attempt to thwart a Skrull invasion of Earth. Fury uncovers a conspiracy for a group of shapeshifting Skrulls to infiltrate Earth in positions of power around the world, recruiting Everett K. Ross, Maria Hill, and Talos to stop it and save humanity.

In addition to Jackson, the star-studded cast features Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Kingsley Ben-Adir as Gravik, Emilia Clarke as G’iah, Olivia Colman as Sonya Falsworth, Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, and Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross.

The series is directed by Ali Selim and created by Kyle Bradstreet. Development on the series began in September 2020, with Bradstreet and Jackson attached. Additional castings occurred throughout March and April 2021, followed by the hiring of Selim to direct the series that May. Filming took place in London, West Yorkshire, and Liverpool, England, and wrapped in late April 2022. Secret Invasion will consist of six episodes and will be the first series of Phase Five of the MCU.
