At today’s July Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, Samsung unveiled a next-generation lineup featuring the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, a budget-friendly Z Flip 7 FE, and the reimagined Galaxy Watch 8 series. Pre-orders begin on July 9, with shipping starting on July 25.

Leading the charge is the Galaxy Z Fold 7, a foldable powerhouse that redefines what thin and light mean in the category. At just 215g and 4.2mm unfolded, it’s lighter than even the Galaxy S25 Ultra. A stunning 8-inch display, upgraded 200MP camera, and Android 16-powered AI features make this the most “Ultra” non-Ultra Samsung device to date—albeit with a $2,000 price tag.

Joining it is the Galaxy Z Flip 7, now featuring a full-width 4.1-inch cover screen and improved durability thanks to the new Armor FlexHinge. At $1,100, it delivers flagship functionality with a form factor that folds into your pocket. A new Z Flip 7 FE offers a similar experience for just $900.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 8 Series is more than a fitness tracker—it’s a wrist-based AI assistant. With Google Gemini built in, a slimmer chassis, a 3,000-nit display, and smart health features like sleep apnea detection and antioxidant tracking, it represents a significant leap forward. New software, including the slick “Now Bar” for multitasking, seals the deal.

With three new models, the most surprising thing about the new redesigns is that, where the Ultra ($650) looks a bit awkward and boxy at times, the Galaxy Watch 8 ($380) looks good. This is partially due to the watch being 11% thinner than its predecessor and significantly thinner than the Ultra or the other new kid on the block, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic ($500). It features a lovely minimalist design, with a brighter display now capable of up to 3,000 nits, and the battery is 8% larger to accommodate it.

With sleek design updates, powerful internals, and smart features that matter, Samsung’s 2025 Unpacked proves they’re not playing it safe—they’re rewriting the rulebook.
