Automobili Lamborghini and luxury watchmaker Roger Dubuis have teamed up again to design the limited edition Excalibur Spider Huracán MB. This automotive-inspired timepiece was developed specifically to commemorate the launch of Lamborghini’s Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, the supercar involved in the Super Trofeo GT races. The distinctive khaki green and orange 45mm case of the Excalibur Spider Huracán MB is made of SMC carbon, a composite material developed in-house and similar to the one used on the Lamborghini Huracán’s monocoque chassis and body panels, while black DLC titanium is used on the bezel.
The honeycomb motif present in the design of the Excalibur Spider Huracán MB reflects the hexagonal dashboard of the Lamborghini Huracán, while twin barrels and a 12° tilted balance wheel represent the signature caliber associated with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. With its semi-skeletonized design, one can easily view the inner workings of the in-house RD630 automatic-winding movement, which holds an impressive 60-hour power reserve. The transparent caseback features a rotor design that matches the wheel of the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO 2. Limited to just 88 pieces, the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Huracán MB is finished with a strap made from rubber and Alcantara. In yet another nod to its namesake, the strap’s inner lining features the unique Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R pattern, the same pattern found on the tires. Finally, a Quick Release System on the buckle and strap guarantees the wearer can change it quickly.
