Ressence’s Type 8 has always been a statement in minimalist design: a crownless, lug-free pebble of 42.9 mm grade 5 titanium and domed sapphire, weighing almost nothing and rotating via the caseback. This sleek canvas, powered by the patented ROCS (Ressence Orbital Convex System), is now home to Daniel Engelberg’s striking “Inside Out” artwork—hand-engraved concentric forms filled with layered blue gradients. Engelberg’s sculptural dial concepts, drawn from wood and resin, are reimagined here in titanium, creating hypnotic depth that spins with every glance. Two editions—DE1’s bold pink and DE2’s serene turquoise-blue—let artistic preference shine through on both dial and rubber strap.

Despite its artistic flourish, form has not sacrificed function. The Type 8 remains fully ergonomic and easy to wear, thanks to its low 11 mm profile and back-operating mechanism. The rotating dial system continues to display minutes centrally, and hours via a smaller subring, maintaining the watch’s signature glanceable interface.

Technically, these Ressence Art Watches utilize an automatic ETA base, topped with the ROCS module, which includes a satellite-disc hour display. The result: a mechanical marvel hidden beneath sculptural beauty. Each of the 40-piece limited runs arrives on its matching strap—standout pink for DE1 and versatile turquoise for DE2—and retails at $22,500.
The Ressence Type 8 Daniel Engelberg series embodies the brand’s DNA of innovation and comfort, transforming timekeeping into fine art, one spin at a time.
