reMarkable has built its reputation on distraction-free tablets for focused work, and its latest release—the Paper Pro Move—takes that ethos mobile. Designed as a pocket-friendly version of last year’s Paper Pro, the Move shrinks down to a 7.3-inch Canvas Color display, roughly the size of a reporter’s notepad. At just 7.6 inches tall and 4.3 inches wide, it’s built for users who want the freedom to read, write, and annotate anywhere, not just at a desk.

Despite its smaller chassis, the Paper Pro Move retains many of the features that made its predecessor a standout. Inside is a 1.7GHz dual-core Cortex A55 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, ensuring smooth performance. Battery life remains impressive, lasting up to two weeks, despite the reduced capacity. Users will find familiar touches, such as the ridged edge banding, aluminum body, and high-friction back cover, for improved grip.

The downsizing demanded subtle but impactful software refinements. The toolbar is now draggable, gesture navigation has been fine-tuned, and handwriting-to-text conversion shines on the compact display. However, unlike its larger sibling, the Move lacks compatibility with a physical keyboard—a tradeoff that might irk heavy typists.

At $499, bundled with the standard Marker, the Paper Pro Move is clearly aimed at professionals and creatives who want reMarkable’s distraction-free experience in a truly portable form. With six folio options available, including polymer weave and leather, it’s as stylish as it is practical—a minimalist tool for focused work on the move.
