In a world where smart features and streaming dominate, the Pro-Ject E1.2 turntable stands out as a defiantly analog choice. This stripped-back, fully manual deck is crafted for purists and newcomers alike—those who crave warm vinyl tones over wireless convenience. Designed with simplicity and fidelity in mind, the E1.2 is an affordable entry point into the world of vinyl, offering high-end touches without the high-end price tag.

What sets the E1.2 apart is its emphasis on sound-first design. Pro-Ject swapped out the plastic platter of the previous E1 model for a 730g aluminum die-cast version with TPE damping, helping to reduce unwanted vibrations and boost rotational stability. The CNC-machined plinth is solid and free of hollow spaces, minimizing resonance and maximizing sonic integrity. Underneath, a reinforced ABS sub-platter enhances speed accuracy while minimizing noise.

The turntable’s 8.6-inch aluminum tonearm includes a carbon-reinforced headshell and precision gimbal bearing, pre-fitted with a Pick it MM E cartridge. Pro-Ject handles the calibration at the factory, so it’s ready to use straight out of the box. Speed changes between 33 1/3 and 45 RPM are electronically controlled with a single button, and while it lacks digital frills like Bluetooth or a built-in preamp, that’s precisely the point.

Available in high-gloss black, satin white, or walnut, the Pro-Ject E1.2 is clean, minimal, and built for pure analog listening. At $336, it’s a seriously compelling option for vinyl lovers who want to start strong.
