A Porsche AG subsidiary in Ludwigsburg, Germany, Porsche Design has been churning out automotive accessories and other licensed products for more than 15 years. Of course, many of these accessories and products are related to the iconic 911 – a number that “has triggered strong emotions” among Porsche aficionados since 1963.
Well, Porsche Design’s latest creation pays tribute to the 911 like no other before. Produced in a limited run of 911, the Porsche Design 911 Chronograph Timeless Machine was built on the notion that the triumph of engineering known as the Porsche 911 should be complemented by a wristwatch of equal mechanical quality. The resulting 42mm titanium watch with a bright red chronograph hand faithfully reflects the uniquely stylish gauges of its namesake automobile. The dial conjures direct images of the 911’s speedometer, and the strap is composed of the same leather that graces the 911’s interior. The watch is powered by the excellent ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic movement, with sapphire crystal on both sides and 100 meters of water resistance.
