As previously described by IMBOLDN, the 1956 Eames Lounge Chair is nothing short of iconic in the world of furniture design. Charles and Ray Eames took a distinctively modernist approach when creating this incredible unit, transforming simple molded plywood into a starkly beautiful and gracefully low-slung chair that is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing.

The creative forces behind the custom motorcycle company Pista obviously understand the incredible power inherent in the Eames Lounge Chair design. Transportation designer Lindsay Ross, race team fabricator Alex Kors, and classic car aficionado Robbie Pyle set out to build a tracker with a unique retro-modern vibe, and they have succeeded with the Case Study Tracker.

An elegantly re-constructed Yamaha, this bike takes a number of cues from the Eames Lounge Chair, including an extra long seat area that reflects the contours of a recliner. The Pista Case Study Tracker also incorporates the original materials of the Eames Lounge Chair with trim panels composed of pressed plywood and a veneer of American Walnut.

Pista has also ramped up the standard mechanical aspects of the Yamaha for this exceptional bike. It includes newer generation Yamaha YZ450F forks, overhauled Traxxion Dynamics suspension, a titanium Arrow exhaust muffler, a bespoke aluminum fuel tank with a lower center of gravity, and enhanced breaking with a Brembo RCS16 master cylinder.
