Nearly a decade after Pebble smartwatches helped define the wearables movement, the iconic brand is making a bold return. Eric Migicovsky, the founder of Pebble, has reacquired the brand name and is resurrecting it through his current company, Core Devices. Fans of the original Pebble can now look forward to two rebranded models: the Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2.

Formerly known as Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2, these new models mark the first official Pebble-branded watches since the company shut down in 2016. Both run on PebbleOS and aim to carry the legacy forward with improved hardware and design. The Pebble 2 Duo, priced at $149, is expected to ship in August following tweaks for better waterproofing and the addition of a speaker. The Pebble Time 2, which features a sleeker design, is still in the engineering verification phase and will retail for $225.
The Pebble 2 Duo boasts a surprisingly strong Bluetooth range—around 140 meters in open air—and early tests suggest it’s outperforming expectations in real-world scenarios. Pre-orders are already live through the “rePebble” website, with devices shipping globally from Hong Kong. U.S. buyers should expect an additional $10 tariff fee.
The revival of the Pebble brand taps deep into nostalgia while offering an affordable, open-source alternative in today’s crowded smartwatch market. If you ever missed the minimalist charm of Pebble on your wrist, now’s your chance to bring it back.
