Maybe it’s the upcoming presidential election and its grim outlook, but it seems like a lot of films these days are focusing on humans exploring the possibility of a life on another planet. It could be that we’re fed up with the reality that’s facing us on Earth, that the only way we can move on is by literally dreaming of leaving this planet.
Well, seems like leaving the Earth isn’t the answer either. Passengers is an upcoming film about two passengers, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, onboard a spaceship transporting them to a new life on another planet. They’re hibernation pods mysteriously wake them 90 years before their destination, where the two have to unravel the mystery behind the malfunctions as they fall for each other. Passengers will hit theaters December 21, 2016.
