Alongside its anniversary concept, Onkyo has launched a complete Muse Series of compact integrated amplifiers aimed at audiophiles who value convenience and cutting‑edge tech. The Muse Y‑50 headlines the lineup with a fully digital circuit, Axign class‑D amplifier and a high‑current MOSFET output stage that delivers 250 watts per channel into 4 ohms.

A vibrant 5.46‑inch color LCD display shows track metadata and includes an analog‑style VU meter, while a redesigned volume knob and vents adorned with the traditional San Kuzushi pattern pay homage to Japanese craftsmanship. Connectivity options include three pairs of analog RCA inputs, a COAX input, a phono stage, HDMI ARC, Ethernet and Wi‑Fi, as well as support for Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Chromecast and AirPlay 2. Built‑in Onkyo Room EQ provides automatic acoustic calibration to suit your room.

The smaller Y‑40 shares the same design language and 5.46‑inch display but outputs 150 watts per channel and omits the phono stage. Both models can be controlled via the Onkyo Controller app and are expected to ship in May 2026 at $1,499 and $999, respectively. Available in black or silver finishes and measuring just 3.9 × 13.8 × 12.6 inches, the Muse Series amplifiers aim to bring high‑fidelity streaming to minimalist setups.
The Muse Series marks a rebirth for Onkyo, combining modern connectivity with thoughtful design touches. Fans of the brand’s earlier collaborative work on the Klipsch Flexus soundbar system will appreciate the return to form. With their compact footprints, intuitive interfaces and abundant streaming options, the Y‑50 and Y‑40 look set to entice both seasoned audiophiles and newcomers seeking a sophisticated yet approachable entry into hi‑fi.
