More horsepower rarely fixes the slowest component on a motorcycle: the rider. The new Ohvale GP-5 puts 15-inch wheels and 250cc power between the brand’s GP-2 and GP-7, creating a more measured step toward full-size race machinery.

Two liquid-cooled, DOHC single-cylinder engines are available: a 249.4cc Honda CRF250R unit and a 249.8cc ZS RR250. Both use five-speed transmissions, although the Honda version includes an upshift quickshifter as standard while the ZS offers one as an option.

An aluminum perimeter frame and aluminum swingarm keep the GP-5 compact without relegating it to junior-grade hardware. Its 35mm OHRACING inverted fork and linkage-equipped rear shock provide adjustments for preload, compression, and rebound. An Öhlins TTX shock and OHRACING steering damper are optional. Braking comes from two 240mm front discs, Brembo GP4-Mini radial calipers, and a Brembo 15 RCS radial master cylinder.

Pirelli developed dedicated 100/70 R15 front and 120/70 R15 rear tires in slick and rain compounds. An Arrow dual-silencer exhaust is standard, with an Akrapovič system available separately. The dashboard supplies lap timing, engine data, and pit-limiter information, while an optional AiM MXq adds GPS timing, data acquisition, and an integrated inertial sensor, adding another layer for riders accustomed to analyzing a purpose-built track motorcycle.

Ohvale says the GP-5 will become available in October 2026. Pricing and U.S. availability have not been announced.
