Independent Swiss watchmaker ochs und junior has unveiled its 2025 Holiday Special Edition of the day/night, a timepiece that redefines functional artistry in horology. Crafted from Grade 5 titanium with a 40mm case, the watch delivers a remarkable range of celestial functions, including sunrise, sunset, solar noon, moon phase, and the exact positions of the sun and moon in the sky.
The rhodium-plated dial features ochs und junior’s signature blue markers, paired with hands treated in Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility. Daytime hours shine in brass, while nighttime is depicted with a blue patina sky, hand-drilled brass stars, a hammered 24-karat gold sun, and a hammered platinum moon. This astronomical dial is powered by the Ulysse Nardin UN-320, a movement renowned for its precision and reliability. The brand’s distinctive design language transforms complex functions into an elegantly clear display.
Sustainability and craftsmanship extend to the straps, available in sturgeon or Ecopell calf leather, paired with a handmade calf leather pouch. With sapphire crystals on the front and back, 100m water resistance, and meticulous Swiss finishing, the watch is as robust as it is elegant.
Priced at $14,900, the Holiday Special Edition is available for pre-order until January 6, 2026. Orders placed before November 1, 2025, guarantee delivery by Christmas Eve, making this a rare collectible designed for connoisseurs who want an astronomical complication wrapped in an understated yet daring design.
