Ludwig Oechslin’s weekday watch is getting another makeover courtesy of his daughter, Cajetana. This time, the younger Oechslin is taking the settimana line on a tour of the seasons with the new ochs und junior settimana seasons collection, as told by bold but simple color choices on the dial. Oechslin selected pink for spring, green for summer, light orange for fall, and icy blue for winter, with the color details carrying through to the second hand and the iconic weekday window operating behind the white hands.
Like other examples in the ochs und junior settimana line, the seasons collection eschews numbers on the dial, focusing attention on the colorways. It’s all for the better – nobody’s wearing an ochs und junior watch when they need to be punctual.
The pieces are available in 36mm and 40mm sizes and come with leather straps handmade by Sabina Brägger. Wearers should know the lug sizing runs tight to the case, so the fit may be tighter than other watches of the same size. The Sellita SW-200-1 movement powers the whole setup, modified by the La Chaux-de-Fonds lab to accommodate its signature day display.
The entire line of $2,473 watches is available for individual pre-order now, with spring watches slated to ship near the end of February. Starting at the end of March, horophiles can purchase the entire ochs und junior settimana seasons collection at once for $9,700, shaving a bit off the per-piece price.
