NOMOS Glashütte just unveiled the NOMOS Ahoi Atlantic dive watch. According to the company, this new sports watch is a timepiece for all occasions – typical of the brand’s style. The Ahoi Atlantic is water-resistant up to 200 meters, and features the in-house DUW 5001 caliber movement, with a 40mm case and a custom-woven textile strap from France. The face is a deep blue with hands that are rhodium-plated, with Superluminova inlay in white, and the seconds hand is in red. The Superluminova coating ensures the hands and numerals illuminate in green, even at the darkest depths.
Boasting a 43-hour power reserve and a compact height of just 4.3mm, the movement is powered by NOMOS’ own proprietary Swing System escapement. Visible through the sapphire caseback, it has heat-treated blued screws, NOMOS perlage, Glashütte ribbing, and other fancy decorations. Glashütte has been known for making fine timepieces for over 175 years. Roland Schwertner founded NOMOS Glashütte in 1990, and in 2022 the company is the largest manufacturer of mechanical timepieces in Germany. Today, NOMOS timepieces are made by hand exclusively in Glashütte.
