Nike continues to push its off‑road running lineup with the new ACG Ultrafly, a trail shoe that borrows top‑tier technology from the brand’s road racing shoes. The Ultrafly teams a carbon fiber FlyPlate with ZoomX foam to deliver a snappy yet cushioned ride, while a Vibram Litebase outsole with mega‑grip rubber ensures traction on roots and loose scree. Nike tested the design over 30,000 miles with elite trail runners, refining the mesh upper for breathability and stability.

At around 10.1 oz per shoe, the Ultrafly hits a sweet spot between protection and racing weight. The midsole uses dual‑density foam to soften landings, and a rock plate shields feet from sharp stones. The bold Safety Orange colourway nods to vintage ACG gear, while a snug bootie construction keeps debris out.

The Ultrafly’s carbon plate offers just enough flex to adapt to uneven surfaces without feeling unstable. Early testers report it transitions smoothly from steep ascents to flat fire roads. Paired with gaiters or ACG apparel, the shoe could be a go‑to for ultra marathons and technical day hikes alike.

Nike’s latest release follows in the footsteps of last year’s Mountain Fly 2, but it marks the first time the brand has integrated its FlyPlate tech into a trail shoe. The Ultrafly will drop in limited quantities and retails for $260.
