The technology behind showers have been the same for as long as personal hygiene has been important; gravity makes water fall from above and we stand under the falling water to wash ourselves. The Nebia might be the first shower system to challenge the status quo of this historical tradition of bathing under falling water.
As a result of nearly 5 years or research and development, the basic technology of the Nebia is that the it breaks the water into tiny droplets so that your body becomes engulfed in water droplets. The experience is definitely novel and completely different from what we have become accustomed to, being described as being similar to a gentle hug. It also fully hydrates your body so that there is no area left outside of this cloud of warm water.
Not only does the Nebia offer a completely unique showering experience it also saves water by 70% compared to traditional showers. When the average American takes eight minutes to shower every day, this can become a significant amount, especially for those areas that are plagued by draught.
We love new technologies for the sake of it being new, but when it sets out to challenge the status quo while also doing something for the environment, it’s a definite win-win in our book. To help out their already successful Kickstarter campaign, click here.
