Off-road trailers often ask owners to tow a small house before reaching the campsite. The Motsmann Outranger takes the opposite approach: a compact two-person squaredrop with a 1,450-pound dry weight and an equipment list that can be built up rather than hauled from day one.

The molded composite cabin measures 162.3 inches from hitch to rear bumper, 72 inches wide, and 77.8 inches high with the roof rack. Its 3mm galvanized-steel chassis is bolted instead of fully welded, making repairs and later upgrades more straightforward; reinforcement grows to 10mm around the suspension mounts.

Timbren 2000 HD independent suspension, electric brakes, 30-inch tires on 15-inch wheels, and an optional articulating hitch handle uneven ground.

Inside, the main cabin sleeps two, while a rear galley can be specified with a gravity-fed sink, dual-burner Dometic cooktop, 14-gallon fresh-water tank, eight-gallon waste tank, and drawer refrigerator. A 200Ah lithium-iron-phosphate battery is standard, expandable to 600Ah, with solar panels and tow-vehicle charging available. The modularity makes the Outranger a lighter counterpoint to full-size overlanding conversions.
Preorders open September 1 through Motsmann. The base trailer starts at $25,950 in white, gray, sandstone, or military green; a 20 percent deposit secures a build, with production quoted at up to six months.
