Warner Bros. has dropped the second official trailer for Mickey 17, the highly anticipated sci-fi movie directed by Bong Joon-ho. Following his Oscar-winning success with Parasite in 2019, the movie is set to hit theaters in March 2025. It is already creating buzz after its world premiere in Seoul, South Korea, and its upcoming screening at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival.

Starring Robert Pattinson as Mickey Barnes, an “Expendable” sent to colonize the ice planet Niflheim, Mickey 17 follows the story of a man who faces death, only to be regenerated with his memories mostly intact. The premise is intriguing and promises a mix of adventure and existential questions. The film is based on Edward Ashton’s sci-fi novel Mickey7, which explores the morality of cloning and disposable labor in a harsh, futuristic environment.

Alongside Pattinson, the star-studded cast includes Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, and more. Bong Joon-ho’s signature style is evident, offering a visually stunning and thought-provoking narrative. Fans of Snowpiercer and Okja can expect a visually rich and emotionally engaging journey. While the movie was originally slated for early 2024, it was pushed back a year, making the March release even more exciting. With a trusted director behind the wheel, Mickey 17 is poised to be another revolutionary addition to the sci-fi genre.
