Merrell’s impressive range of walking boots, shoes, and trail runners has evolved to include products that incorporate the latest in sustainable materials and eco-friendly construction without compromising on its tradition of quality. The new Merrell Moab 3 X Parks Project exemplifies this environmental commitment, with the brand partnering with the California Cleanup for a plant-based apparel collection.

Constructed using the HyphaLita, the pioneering mushroom-based alternative to traditional plastics, the Merrell Moab 3 X Parks Project represents the current transition to 100% biodegradable, biobased outdoor footwear and accessories construction. The collection starts with the Moab 3 walking boot, which utilizes natural latex and cellulose fibers certified by the FSC.

The Merrell Moab 3 X Parks Project matches the Moab 3 hiking boot with various apparel that uses the same environmentally-friendly manufacturing approach. Each piece is made from sustainable materials, including undyed and unbleached organic cotton, and is finished with pineapple-based materials on the labels.

It’s a complete capsule wardrobe for outdoor explorers, including a short-sleeved T-shirt, fleece jogger and shorts, and a quarter and crewneck zipped fleece. Each item has been designed with customized artwork by Ailsa Munro for the Parks Project. The collection is completed with a stylish bucket hat and durable, warm hiking socks.

The Merrell Moab 3 X Parks Project Collection was launched in Los Angeles during a cleanup event, which raised an impressive $9000 in donations for the LA County Parks Foundation. Retailers, including URBN, PACSUN, Backcountry, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and SAKS, are among the outlets offering the Merrell Moab 3 X Parks Project, along with the Merrell and Parks Project websites.
