Did you know Maybach turned 100 years old this year? Maybach, as in Mercedes– (I make more money than you) Maybach luxury cars. Technically, the Maybach company was founded in 1909 by William Maybach and started manufacturing its first production vehicle in 1921. In celebration of its triple-digit birth year, Maybach introduced a centennial special edition of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and GLS.
This limited-edition Maybach trim is dubbed the Edition 100 and will be available on the S-Class and GLS, and only 100 examples of each will be built. Unique features on the Mercedes-Maybach Edition 100 include a hand-painted silver and nautical blue exterior paint job with exclusive grey finish wheels and “Edition 100” badging displayed on its rear pillars. Inside, the ultra-luxury interior wears crystal white and silver-grey pearl leather decorated with black wood trim. Buyers also get luxury goods with their Maybach Edition 100 like Robbe & Berking silver engraved champagne flutes and a branded car cover. Plus, a designer fountain pen with an 18-carat gold nib to write checks with multiple commas.
German buyers will get first dibs on the Mercedes-Maybach Edition 100, with orders being accepted right now. In the United States, only the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be offered in Edition 100 trim and won’t be available until early 2022.
New for 2022, is the Mercedes-Maybach S680 V12.
