Mercedes-Benz unveiled a new, massive, 56-inch infotainment screen designed for its upcoming upper-class line of electric vehicles. The product is called the MBUX Hyperscreen (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), and it stretches the entire width of the dashboard. More than just another touch-screen, the Mercedes-Benz MBUX Hyperscreen claims to use artificial intelligence to make personalized suggestions for vehicle functions based on the driver’s habits. This means no more scrolling through submenus or dealing with voice commands that can’t quite recognize the tone of your voice no matter how you enunciate.
The Mercedes-Benz Hyperscreen offers up to seven customizable profiles to house the functions the driver uses the most. Its artificial intelligence uses context-sensitive awareness to adapt to the driver’s behavior continuously. According to Mercedes-Benz, this system will provide users with the right function at the right time without giving a command. It’ll know just what you need, like a dedicated butler. Passengers riding up front will also benefit from the Hyperscreen and be able to use entertainment functions. When nobody is riding shotgun, the passenger side of the Hyperscreen reverts to a decorative screen. The MBUX Hyperscreen sounds like the next step in vehicle interiors as we inch closer to the “cars of tomorrow” era that is already here in many ways.
