For the third installment of its Wood Finishing Series, Maker’s Mark has tapped its operations team to craft a whisky that reflects the unique character of its Star Hill Farm.

The Stewards Release starts as fully matured Maker’s Mark that is finished with a proprietary oak stave profile developed by distillery experts; the resulting bourbon is bottled at cask strength, with one batch weighing in at 109.6 proof and another at 113.3 proof. Tasting notes highlight caramel, dried fruit and warm baking spices, while the higher proof underscores the spirit’s viscous mouthfeel.
The Stewards Release is available now across the United States with an MSRP of $74.99, a price point that underscores Maker’s Mark’s commitment to accessibility even for special editions. The release also emphasizes transparency: the front label lists finishing details and proof, inviting whisky enthusiasts to explore the subtle differences between batches.
