Louis Erard and renowned French designer Alain Silberstein have teamed up once again to present their latest creation: the Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Smile-Day Watch in Grey. This limited-edition timepiece, restricted to just 178 pieces, showcases Silberstein’s distinctive Bauhaus-inspired style, characterized by bold colors and geometric shapes.
The Smile-Day watch features a 40mm diameter case crafted from microblasted grade 2 titanium, complemented by a vertical sidebar, or “brancard,” in polished grade 5 titanium. The conical crown, stamped with the Louis Erard symbol, adds a unique touch. The watch is also practical, offering water resistance up to 100 meters.
One of the most captivating features of this watch is its playful dial. Against a glossy grey background, the hours, minutes, and seconds hands stand out in vibrant red, blue, and yellow primary colors. At 6 o’clock, above the date window, the “Smile-Day” aperture adds a whimsical element, displaying seven different emojis that allow wearers to express their mood.
The Smile-Day is powered by the automatic Sellita SW220-1 caliber, visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback. This movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of 38 hours. The personalized openworked oscillating weight, featuring a black lacquered Louis Erard symbol, adds an extra layer of sophistication.
Completing the watch is a special grey nylon strap with a microblasted Grade 2 titanium hook-and-loop fastener for quick adjustments. Functional catch spring bars allow for easy strap changes, ensuring versatility and comfort.
