Honduras might not be the first place that pops into your mind when you think coffee, but the beans being sourced by Collaborative Coffee Source from Santa Barbara are some of the finest around. The community’s highly regarded Moreno family is a coffee farming institution that has been selling coffee to CCS for almost 15 years.
Pedro Moreno has been farming Caturra Bourbon and Pacas variety beans in Santa Barbara since 1965 and now has 15 specialty producers under him, including his sons and grandsons.
The Moreno family’s farm is in a particularly unique region, at the edge of a jungle with lots of rainfall, necessitating a meticulous approach to drying and processing beans that results in flavors unique to anywhere else in Central America.
Little Amps Pedo Moreno Coffee is grown at 1,500 meters above sea level and completely washed to offer up a sharp cup with tart currant and sweet vanilla undertones washed down by notes of cherry and caramel.
