Few international collaborations are quite this much fun. Legent Bourbon begins with renowned Jim Beam distiller Fred Noe, who draws upon generations of distilling tradition and a lifetime of insightful expertise to create an exceptional Kentucky bourbon. Starting with grains of remarkably high quality and limestone water that is both calcium-rich and iron-free, he crafts a unique spirit that he proceeds to age in newly charred white oak barrels.
But Legent is far from done at the end of this aging process. From Kentucky, it’s shipped to the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery in Osaka, Japan, where master distiller Shinji Fukuyo finishes the straight bourbon whiskey distillate in both sherry casks (which add layers of spicy and fruity overtones) and wine casks (which boost its dried fruit flavors and add a subtle tartness). The result of this international partnership is a spirit that pushes the boundaries for bourbon creation, while still upholding its core principles.
