Collaborations between Kith and New Balance have become a seasonal ritual, and the latest project revisits the Made in UK 991 line. Two models debut: the 991v1 “Vetiver” and the 991v2 “Moonrock.” Both sneakers use premium pigskin suede overlays atop mesh bases, and reflective accents appear on the tongue, dubrae and heel tab. Subtle co‑branding marks the collaboration without overwhelming either brand’s identity.

Underfoot, the 991v1 relies on ABZORB pods combined with ENCAP cushioning for a plush ride, while the 991v2 swaps in ABZORB SBS pods and FuelCell foam for a slightly firmer, more responsive feel. The “Vetiver” wears a slightly green palette of beige, olive and cream tones, evoking a mossy hillside.

In contrast, the “Moonrock” iteration is rendered in taupe and off‑white, recalling lunar dust. Each pair includes a rubber outsole with a ripple‑pattern tread inspired by trail running shoes, and both shoes come with a second set of laces.

Raffle drawings for the limited edition pack opened through the Kith app, and a wider release through Kith channels is scheduled for March 16 at 11 a.m. local time. Expect pricing around $250 per pair. By revisiting classic silhouettes and updating them with modern materials, Kith and New Balance offer a refined alternative to louder sneaker collaborations.

The understated colours and comfortable cushioning systems should appeal to those who appreciate sneakers that are more about texture and proportion than hype.
