With a new adaptive front light, it intuitively adjusts the brightness of its display according to your surroundings, whether a dimly lit room or outside in the sun.
Despite the increase, the Oasis is still light as paper with its ultrathin 3.4mm display covered with a lightweight glass and featuring an anodized aluminum back. For the ultimate in portability, the device is now waterproof up to two meters for the first time, so you can confidently enjoy your beach reads without worrying about damage.
The Oasis operates on weeks of battery power, which is helpful considering that Amazon has bumped up its storage capacity, offering 8 GB or 32 GB models to accommodate even more titles. With the inclusion of Audible on the device you can not only read but also listen to your favorite audiobooks as well.
