Limited to just 222 pieces, each watch in the Junghans max bill Edition Set 2020 pays homage to an artist who was essential to the watchmaker’s success. Year after year, Junghans Watches reprises the design of its iconic timepieces first crafted by Bauhaus artist Max Bill back in 1962. This year’s collection features automatic, chronoscope, quartz, and hand-wound variations along with another style made just for women. Each version harnesses a matte black, grey, silver, or white dial inside a 38mm case with starkly contrasting white Arabic numerals that epitomizes Bill’s style.
On top of a variety of different materials making each case and aesthetic designs to each dial, the collection offers an abundance of different straps. From black calfskin leather to stainless steel milinaise bracelets, each variation can be customized with an additional 20mm strap to achieve a different style to perfectly fit any occasion. The versatility and iconic Bauhaus aesthetic of this year’s collection perfectly illustrates how the approach to horology perfected by Junghans and Max Bill nearly 50 years ago stands the test of time to this day.
