Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced a dramatic new chapter in its legacy of mechanical artistry with the release of the Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179—an ultra-limited, ten-piece expression of craftsmanship, innovation, and aesthetic restraint. The 2025 edition elevates the maison’s most ambitious Reverso platform through deep-black hand-lacquered dials and an 18K pink gold case, creating a visual tension that feels both modern and unmistakably Art Deco.

At the heart of the new model is the fourth evolution of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Gyrotourbillon—a multi-axis complication engineered specifically for the rectangular architecture of the Reverso. The mechanism features a titanium inner cage and a peripheral carriage mounted on ball bearings, rotating at different speeds: 16 seconds for the inner cage and one minute for the outer. The result is an architectural, kinetic sculpture that seems suspended in air.

True to Reverso form, the Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 integrates the brand’s patented Duoface mechanism, displaying two independent time zones across its reversible dials. Each dial presents a distinct identity: the front dial showcases linear, Art Deco-inspired geometry, while the reverse side is a skeletonised composition accented with black lacquer, offering a sense of depth and lightness.
Inside the cradle, an engraved sunray pattern radiates from a lacquered disc, the result of more than 200 micro-hollows cut by laser and hand-filled by a single artisan. Powering everything is the hand-wound Caliber 179, built from 382 components with a 40-hour reserve.
For collectors, this is Jaeger-LeCoultre at full strength—a fusion of engineering ambition, decorative mastery, and the enduring duality that has defined the Reverso since its 1931 origin.
