The famed six-time Formula One World Champion’s most recent venture comes off the track through a partnership with an equally legendary Swiss watchmaker. That collaboration produced the limited edition IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Lewis Hamilton.”
The timepiece has been limited to a production of just 100 watches and features a breathtaking deep vermilion dial with a black zirconium oxide ceramic case. Its face complements am 18-carat gold case back, roto and hands, as well as a 22mm red ribbon strap that brings its design full circle.
Measuring at 46.55mm this is a very meaty watch meant to make a bold impression. For those searching for a sense of adventure and the need for speed, the watch features the time, date and moon phase for both northern and southern hemispheres simultaneously. This collector’s item also uses 3 dials to prominently display the day, date, month and year. That deisgn element gives the dial the aesthetic of an F1 gauge cluster. IWC’s renowned self-winding 52615 calibre movement is at the core of the watch to accurately track years and months of different lengths with a level of unrivalled precision.
The watch’s Swiss-made movement contains 54 jewels with a grand total of 386 components. For a trophy-piece worthy of a champion.
