Insta360 continues to blur the line between wearable camera and full-featured action cam with its Go Ultra, a featherweight yet powerful device designed for creators on the move. Priced at $450, it packs a larger Type 1/1.28 image sensor and a 5nm AI processor that delivers crisp 4K60 video with SDR color and 4K30 HDR, raising the bar for quality in such a compact package.

The two-piece system includes the Go Ultra camera module and the Action Pod, which transforms it into a traditional action cam. At just 5.7 ounces combined, the setup is effortless to carry. At the same time, the magnetic mounting system makes swapping between a tripod, selfie stick, or wearable pendant quick and intuitive—though buyers will need to purchase the clip separately. The Go Ultra module is IPX8 rated for depths of 33 feet, while the Pod is splash-resistant at IPX4.

Battery life varies depending on setup. The module runs for about 36 minutes at 4K60 before overheating, but lasts closer to two hours when docked in the Pod. Capture modes span Photo, Video, Time-lapse, Loop, Starlapse, Pure Video, Slow Motion, and even toddler-focused “Titan” recording with optional accessories. Still photography leverages a Quad Bayer filter for 12.5MP or 50MP output in both JPG and RAW DNG.

Integration with the Insta360 app unlocks seamless control, editing, and auto-generated cuts for social-ready clips. Available in Arctic White and Midnight Black, the Go Ultra is aimed at vloggers and adventurers who want a discreet, pocketable camera that still delivers professional-grade output.
