Watchmaking dates back to the 16th century, yet the craft never rests regarding innovation. The Big Bang Integral Minute Repeater Ceramic by innovative Swiss watchmaker Hublot is proof that firsts can still occur in a hundreds-of-years-old art form. It is the world’s first 100-percent ceramic Cathedral Minute Tourbillon Repeater. Collectors and enthusiasts know ceramic is one of the most difficult materials in watchmaking. A homogenous result requires the most precise firing abilities. The experts at Hublot spent 20 years perfecting the art of working with ceramic to create a watch that is the first of its kind. The slightest mistake meant starting again from scratch.
Until the 43mm Hublot Big Bang Integral Minute Repeater Ceramic, no watchmaker was able to guarantee water resistance or clear sound with an all-ceramic case. The company’s triumph resulted in the first 100-percent ceramic Cathedral Minute Tourbillon Repeater with powerful, clear sound, 30-meter water resistance, and a look that can’t help but turn heads. However, this watch will not be easy for collectors to access. Hublot presents just 36 pieces in the Big Bang Integral Ceramic family, including 18 in white ceramic and 18 in black.
