HOKA One One will soon release its Mach 4, an everyday trainer built for logging long miles from the HOKA 2021 Spring Collection. The Mach 4 sports a dramatic redesign, significantly different from its predecessor, the Mach 3. This new version gains in stack height, softness, and upper structure while declining in weight, at only 8.2 ounces. HOKA claims better comfort with the Mach 4 in part because of the refined collar shape, which minimizes the pressure runners feel on their Achilles tendons. This is reinforced by a rubberized EVA outsole for more responsive cushioning. And for those traveling at high speeds in these running shoes, the engineered mesh uppers allow for comforting, cooling airflow.
On the foot, the HOKA Mach 4 feels more stable, even wider than the Mach 3, and this gives it a better overall feel. The gusseted tongue system makes entry very easy and then the shoe grabs the foot and holds it securely in place right at the midfoot. The toe box is also wider, giving the wearer more room to wiggle which helps on longer runs. HOKA has incorporated its PROFLY combination midsole which provides a cushioned landing and propulsive toe-off. While standing, the midsole feels nice and cushioned especially under the heel. Available in three colorways, the HOKA Mach 4 can be preordered now and will ship on March 1st.
