Human Mobile Devices (HMD), the Finnish company formerly known for manufacturing Nokia‑branded phones, is expanding into audio and wearables under its own name. As part of its Middle Eastern launch event, HMD unveiled the DUB X50 Pro earbuds along with two debut smartwatches, the Watch X1 and Watch P1. Together they paint a picture of a brand eager to compete with big tech on features, battery life and price.

The DUB X50 Pro earbuds are arguably the headliner. They pack a Hi‑Fi digital signal processor, active noise cancellation and AI‑powered four‑microphone environmental noise cancelation. When combined with in‑ear detection and multipoint connectivity, the buds promise up to 60 hours of playback with the charging case. Voice assistant support and touch controls round out a spec sheet that rivals more expensive players.

If you’re eyeing a smartwatch to match, the HMD Watch X1 features a circular 1.43‑inch AMOLED display, SpO₂ and heart‑rate sensors and more than 700 activity modes. The company claims up to five days of battery life, remote health monitoring via its app and an “ICE call assist” feature for emergencies. Those who prefer a simpler look may gravitate toward the Watch P1, which offers essential wellness tracking, a four‑day battery and a streamlined interface.
HMD hasn’t announced U.S. pricing yet, but the devices will be available in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar starting in January 2026. The company’s shift beyond smartphones echoes a broader industry trend toward diversification.
